Travelling the World with our Awards
Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the very best in our bespoke awards. Now, Winter is firmly setting in and it’s bloody cold! We dream of jumping on a plane and getting away from the UK. They say that travel broadens the mind and who are we to disagree. With travel in mind we take a whistle stop tour around the world with our country themed awards.
St Lucia Acrylic Award
Golden sands? Check. Crystal clear water? Check. Luscious, green palm trees? Check. The Carribean island of St Lucia has been a holiday destination for years and it’s easy to see why. Famed for its beautiful beaches and amazing climate, this gettaway is one we would love to explore. We can’t at the moment but the next best thing is surely our custom made St Lucia Award. Commissioned by the tropical island’s tourist board, the bespoke award is made from custom acrylic lettering that rests on a metallic base. High res bright and colourful graphics and that finishing touch as we channel the sunshine of this stunning island.
We head closer to home with the Scottish Bar and Pub Awards. When you think of Scotland, what do you think of? Rolling fields of green, rugged landscapes and even more rugged women? Buckfast? Maybe all of the above. We were approached by our friends at the SCottish Bar and Pub Association to create an award that would celebrate this proud nation and the fine drinking establishments found within. We placed the auld country at the heart of the award and created an outline of the nation. A contemporary award, this makes us long to wander down the streets of Edinburgh before enjoying a pint in a cosy pub.
Ah Switzerland! Known for its fine chocolate, excellence within watchmaking and even more famous bank accounts, this small European country punches well above its size on an international scale. We celebrate all that is swiss craftsmanship with this colourful little award. Made from optically clear acrylic, the award features a precision engineered red jag that creates an eye catching counterpoint to the main body of the award. Drawing inspiration from the national colour of Switzerland, a warm and inviting red, the award features high resolution, rear printed graphics on the body of the design.
Visit England Resin Tudor Rose
We head back to Blighty with this beautiful award for Visit England. A Tudor Rose, one of our national symbols, was given the Creative Awards London treatments and transformed into a stunning resin award. Our in house design team created a hand modelled rose which was used in the resin casting process for the finals awards. Resin was chosen as the material as it allows for great detail and a soft, organic feel in the final piece. To finish, a custom wood base was created which proudly holds the Tudor Rose aloft.
City of London silver metal Gryphon
Now, we know that London isn't a country but we wanted to include this cool award anyway. We celebrate the City of London in our latest bespoke award with the mystical, mythical beast that is the symbol for this incredible city. In use since 1381, the gryphon can be found across London and is used to denote the boundaries of the City of London. To create this extra special award commissioned by the City of London Corporation, an ornate, cast silver metal gryphon was created and finished, lovingly we may add, with hand painted enamel detail.
