A Sustainable Commitment
Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the latest updates and developments from our workshop and our bespoke awards and trophies. In today’s blog we celebrate our commitment to moving towards becoming more sustainable as shown through some of our custom made awards and our new initiative.
What is sustainability?
Sustainability can be defined as, "the avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance." Over the last 25 years both in the workspace and at home there has been a push towards being more sustainable. At home, we see this in recycling, being more mindful or the water we use and controlling our energy usage. In the workplace this can also be seen by a number initiatives that businesses both big and small are using. At Creative Awards London we push to be more sustainable through both the materials that we use in our awards and our partnership with THG More Trees.
Materials - Who said looking good can’t be sustainable?
It’s no secret that our awards are the best in the business. As part of this, we offer a wide selection of finishes and materials to bring brands and events to life through thought-provoking and inspiring design. This year we have expanded our use of sustainable materials to ensure that our awards not only look good but are good for the planet. Clients can choose to use FSC-approved wood from certified forests from across the world which meet the highest environmental and social standards. You may already be familiar with their products made with wood and paper that are marked with the 'tick tree' logo. Likewise, natural materials such as slate help to minimise our carbon footprint. One of the big ideas that we are exploring is the use of recycled acrylic that reduces waste and reuses the versatile material.
Sustainable Partnership
We have also recently created a partnership to plant trees across the world as part of our drive to offset the carbon emissions created in the production of our awards. To achieve this, we partner with THG who share our commitment to becoming greener and to protect our planet's future. THG, in turn, partner with tree planting partners across the world who work with local communities to restore healthy forests and reduce extreme poverty.
Our Commitment
We are committed to creating a healthier, greener planet and are passionate about offsetting climate change and helping the world to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Where possible, all of our bespoke sustainable awards are made from recycled and sustainable sources and our tree planting initiative helps us to reduce CO2, support local communities and reduce deforestation and its impact.
