Going Green

Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the latest insights from our London design studio. As the sun finally breaks through a rather drab few weeks, we can (fingers crossed) say that Spring is in the air and with it we celebrate nature through our sustainable awards. Across the world a revolution is taking place as the shackles of pollution are slowly being untied by a greener, more sustainable way of living. In our day-to-day lives both professionally and personally, we are, as a society, moving to employ more sustainable practices. From recycling to using less plastics, slowly but surely we are starting to care more for our planet and thus future generations. With so much coverage about sustainable practices, we’ve chosen five of our awards that best marry our thought-provoking design with our sustainable practices that help make your event even more eco-friendly.

Impact Award

Impact by name and even more impactful by design. Our Impact Award showcases a traditional column design at its very best. Alluring and eye-catching, the body of the award is crafted from FSC-Approved timber which richly contrasts with the machined star aperture. Digital graphics add an energetic feeling to this special commission that reinvents the traditional look of a sustainable award.

Wooden A Award

Channelling the green credentials of the event organiser, the Wooden A Award is a custom design crafted from FSC-approved sustainable wood. Extra detail can be found in the Pantone colour-matched green that uses the brand colours and forms an outline to the richly finished wood. The sleek profiled wooden body uses a depth illusion to draw attention to the laser-engraved details of the award and its very much deserved winners.

Philips Angled Wood and Shield Award

Commissioned by one of the World’s most established technology brands, the Philips Angled Wood and Shield Award combines cutting edge design with sustainable practices. Featuring high-quality, hand-finished FSC-approved wood that is hand stained and interlocking, the angular shape works beautifully with the rounded logo of the esteemed brand.

BBC Countryfile New Nature Writer of the Year Wooden Book Award

Celebrating the inaugural launch of the BBC's Countryfile Magazine New Nature Writer competition, our award captures the essence of nature. The handmade design was crafted from a single piece of FSC-approved wood and laser engraved with motifs from nature. Particular attention was given to the flora and fauna within the design and only those native to the British Isles were chosen. In addition, finishing touches were added in the form of the spine of the book and its curvature in an award truly champions the imagination and creativity of its well-deserved winner.

Trek Lasered Wooden Block Award

Beautiful FSC-approved maple wood is given the Creative Awards treatment in our latest bespoke wooden award. Designed for one of the largest cycling stores across the UK, the award was commissioned to celebrate the achievements of the employees. The wooden block features unique cityscapes across each of the four faces of the body, with the details of the winners and company elegantly setting off the design. To give it that extra special look, the award was hand-waxed to create a lustrous and rich finish.
