Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we showcase our bespoke awards, latest designs.. Today’s blog focuses on the latest acquisition to our advertising, PR and media awards portfolio with the Cresta Awards. 

Cresta is the Creative Standards organisation and have been running highly respected annual international creative awards since 1993. For over two decades the organisation has inspired, recognised and rewarded the highest standards of creativity whilst supporting, educating and helping into employment the next generation creatives. The multifaceted approach of the organisation ensures that not only is talent rightly recognised but that the positive impact that design and creativity can bring to society is continued. 

Following on from the latest evolution of the brand in 2019, new awards were designed to celebrate their new, yet firmly established, approach and ethos. The trophy, produced by Creative Awards London, combines a centuries old symbol of creativity with contemporary design and sustainable, environment- friendly materials. Based on the Golden Ratio, a proportional ratio widely found in nature and design, ensures an aesthetically pleasing award of perfect proportion. From ancient Greek temples, the Mona Lisa to modern designs, the golden ratio is at the heart of some of the most recognisable designs in history. 

Designed by internationally renowned designer Fernando Gutierrez, responsible for iconic identities at Madrid’s Museo del Prado and London’s Design Museum, the golden ratio was given a contemporary feel and look. Stripping the award back to a simple aesthetic, the piece abstains from the chaotic designs of many modern trophies resulting in clean, modern classic. Made from wood and anodised aluminium, combined with the principles of the essence of design the sophisticated piece represents the values of Cresta and creativity.  What's more, the materials chosen reflect the evolution of the organisation by using sustainable FSC- Certified beech wood finished with a hand applied natural wax finish. The top section is comprised of recycled aluminium, anodised in black, gold, silver and bronze.
