Lockdown Essentials
Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the latest in our bespoke awards and trophies. As the UK slowly begins to reopen, pubs reopening this Saturday, we look back on the last three months of lockdown and the items that have helped us (and presumably many other people across the land) to get through these unprecedented times.
With 1.3 billion daily users, 300 hours of content uploaded every minute and 5 billion videos viewed every day Youtube is truly the juggernaut of streaming. With a wealth of content creators catering to almost any whim Youtube has provided a refuge for us in lockdown. Listening to our favourite bands, watching how it’s made video and learning to cook. We salute you Youtube and your legion of creators. The Youtube award, designed and produced in house, is handed out to the biggest channels within their fields.
Continuing within the digital domain, we turn our eyes (and hands) to gaming. Escaping the rigors of the day to day, gaming has become even more popular as players across the globe flock online to raid in clans, compete in riving championships and beat each other senseless in beat ‘em ups. Mortal Kombat, the 11th installment in this beloved franchise, celebrated the launch of the game with a custom made medallion for their launch event. Drawing inspiration from the famous dragon logo, this award is one of a kind.
Now, its no secret that over the course of lockdown some people may have, erm, indulged slightly? Seeking comfort in cakes, beating boredom with baking and feeling good through frying food, and sharing it with the people you care about, has become even more important. Celebrating home cooks everywhere, our Food & Drink Award was commissioned by a national magazine. The silver plated award, featured beautifully engraved details and is equally at home in the kitchen or on an award’s shelf.
Whether it is a boxset binge, catching up with a sitcom or unwinding with a nature documentary it is undeniable that TV has become central to the lives of many during the Covid crises. The silver screen has become even more important as many turn away from the difficulties of reality and turn on to the wealth of programming out there. This dynamic award is based on a stylised graphic of a television set, which is cut from solid aluminium and given a brushed finish. A gold star provides the focus of the piece, as well as giving a smooth surface to engrave the winners' details and sponsor logos.
Music, music, music. From playing to listening, our daily lives have certainly been enriched over the last few months. This iconic award, won by almost every name you can think of in popular music, are truly the icing on the cake to surviving lockdown.
