Acrylic Award Ideas and Inspiration
Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the very best in award design and more. We all know how hard it can be when you have an event and you're looking to design an award. You've chosen the material, acrylic Perspex, and are not sure on what to design to choose or what your options are. Luckily, that's where we come in. In today's blog post we bring you five examples of our works to help cultivate your ideas for designing an acrylic award.
Acrylic Perspex is one of the most versatile materials that we use to design our awards. Quite simply, the colours, shapes and textures that can be achieved through acrylic Perspex are virtually limitless. Whilst having this enormous amount of options is exciting it can also be intimidating. We've rounded up five of our acrylic awards to help with your acrylic award design.
We start with the bespoke ICE Awards commissioned by a leading industry body. Taking a traditional acrylic rectangle column, we wanted to replicate the feel and design of an iceberg crashing through a choppy sea. The turquoise coloured base features exceptional detailing through the air bubbles inside whilst a special technique was used to create the sea texture on top. The bright blue is contrasted by the custom moulded iceberg peering out from the body adding a visually, textural and colour difference. To finish, the details of the award were engraved onto the front of the award.
Clear acrylic plaques are one of the most popular designs when it comes to our awards. A classic shape, the clear acrylic plaque is minimalist yet modern and communicates the event and brand clearly. Commissioned by one of the biggest television channels in the UK, the ITV Award features a custom cut body with high resolution graphics. The award can be customised in any colour and shape and we are able to add any logo or graphics in HD.
This award is certainly wow. As we previously mentioned, Perspex acrylic is a wonderfully versatile material that can be cut into limitless shapes. The Wow Award proves that a great way to create an acrylic award is by taking elements of the brand and business and transforming them into something special. The custom cut acrylic body was precision engineered and features crisp, clean lines. Much like the ITV Award, we used HD rear printing to add a pop art-inspired graphic, breathing colour and life into the design. Finally, a hand cut gold metal 'wow' shape was applied to the front adding additional texture and colour.
One of our our latest designs, the Acrylic Oil Drum Award forms our range of financial tombstones. As you can see, acrylic is a rather useful material. In this award we used advanced encapsulation techniques to set crude oil into the barrel shaped body of the award. Rounding of our acrylic award inspiration is this piece de la resistance that was commissioned by the world famous office supply company, the Bisley Acrylic Filing Cabinet could be more at home in an art gallery than on an awards shelf. The handmade object took over 200 hours of manpower to create and features working drawers, complete with miniature handles, and a custom made Bisley logo. A sophisticated design that captures the brilliance of both the material and our exceptional teams.
