RICS Awards -Behind The Scenes

Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the very best in custom awards and design. Today’s blog sees our hardy team don their high-vis jackets, stick on their hardhats and get down on the ground with the RICS Awards.

RICS LogoFounded in 1868, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors promotes and enforces the highest international standards in the valuation, management and development of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. Now spanning some 125,000 accredited members working across 150 countries, RICS is synonymous with the very best standards with surveying.

Held annually, the RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They celebrate the achievements and successes of RICS professionals.

Across eight individual categories, the awards are regarded as the premier property and construction awards in the country, celebrating the most innovative projects in the region and their impact on local communities.

Taking place on the 4th of October at the Royal Lancaster, the ceremony will bring together the leading figures within chartered surveying for a celebratory and unforgettable evening. Comprised of a panel of four industry-leading judges, who bring substantial experience from their industry sector, the RICS awards truly celebrate the very best work by members across the UK and further afield.

Creative Awards London set to the task of designing an award that would capture the esteemed institution with such global influence. Working with the design brief, our team sought to draw from three key components of the brand identity to build the piece.

  • History - The heritage of the RICS
  • Modernity - Embracing the ever changing nature of new technologies and techniques employed within the profession
  • Community - Central to the award categories

Render of RICS AwardThe three brand features formed the basis of the design that would unify the three individual parts into a single award. Production started on the award with a fully rendered design that was signed off by the client before the teams began the process of creating the individual pieces that would come together in the final fully realised design.

RICS AwardThe angular skyline, representing community, was created from a single piece of precision machined metal and compliments the angular lines of the black acrylic Perspex body. Working in unison the two elements combine to create a modern feel for an institute that embraces new technologies and ways of working. The curved font of the winner’s details match the logo of the brand maintaining a firm sense of tradition and heritage. Finally, the choice of black interplays with the silver inlay used on the font and logo to create a striking point of contrast. Once complete, the finished awards were individually hand polished and packaged by our team before being dispatched to the venue.

Creative Awards London would like to thank all involved at RICS for their custom and wish those involved with the ceremony a very enjoyable evening. For more information on the RICS awards, contact our teams via sales@creativeawardslondon.co.uk or call 020 8159 2748.
