Welcome back to the Creative Awards blog where we showcase the very best in bespoke awards and trophies. Now, with London on lockdown, Coronavirua creeping the country and a pandemic prowling the world we wanted to offer a simple distraction in these challenging times. Art, an intrinsic part of human expression, has inspired and comforted mankind. We explore five of our awards that push the boundaries of what awards can be.
Equally at home in an awards cabinet as an art gallery, this incredible bespoke award is truly something special. To create this magnificent piece, a solid silver molecule was created from a digital master. Industry leading techniques were applied to encapsulate the metal piece into optically clear acrylic resulting in the arresting and impressive award. The award itself is something organic. The silver molecule distorts and moves depending on the viewing angle, creating an almost life-like and flowing piece. To finish, the bespoke award was hand polished and engraved creating a custom made award that showcases unique and thought provoking design.
When you're approached by one of the world's biggest companies to design something remarkable what do you do? Well, if you're Creative Awards, you create the First Cut Swarf Award. Commissioned by BAE to celebrate the first soft metal cut by their F35 Machining Facility 610, this custom-designed acrylic award is one of a kind. Made using a top secret in-house encapsulation technique, the award resembles an objet d'art more than a traditional award. The award features aluminium swarf set into optically clear acrylic, creating an eye-catching and unique design that draws from, and celebrates, the cutting edge design and engineering principals of BAE Systems.
Inspired by centuries-old processes used in the production of the famous Scottish tipple, this special commission for a famous whisky producer is made from polished copper shaped into a profile of a stag's head. Sleek lines, textures and colours effortlessly blend together to create a masterful award that is both elegant and stylish. The base is made from hand worked oak barrels which have been used in the manufacture of sherry, which gives the award a strong, sweet smell of alcohol.
Is this inspired by Basquiat? A nod towards Warhol? Or perhaps an homage to Roy Lichtenstein? The custom made acrylic award is a bright and colourful addition to any event or ceremony. Designed in house and custom cast by our experts, the Pop-Art Coloured Perspex Block is a contemporary award that may be small but is big on colour. A minimalist design is lifted through the use of four colours which match the branding of the event, transforming the cube design into something much more. To finish, the award was hand engraved with the details of the event and the awards categories.
Commissioned by one of the world's most desired automobile makers, the Lexus Acrylic Lattice Awards are an exercise in design and style. The bespoke acrylic plaque features a precision-cut acrylic lattice with an engraved, black aluminium plate. The geometric acrylic plaque draws inspiration from the lines and edges of the industrial production line used to create these luxury cars. Why? The company's logo at the front of the award is supported and pushed, in this case in the form of the production line inspired plaque, by the incredible engineering behind their vehicles.
